From industrial past to futureproof workspaces

The transformation of the Polytoren is a compelling example of vision and collaboration. Once a thriving polymer factory (1955–2012), it is now a dynamic office hub that honours its industrial heritage while embracing sustainability, creativity, and well-being. It is therefore no surprise that the project was rightfully nominated for the RES Awards 2024 in the Best Commercial Development category and the MIPIM Awards 2025 in the Best Conversion Project category.

Alinso, a developer specialised in industrial and office real estate, aimed to create a high-end working environment for its headquarters that is both professional and welcoming, while meeting the highest standards for workplace well-being (in line with European standard NBN EN 12464-1:2021). From both a technical and architectural perspective, an advanced lighting design was developed, striking a careful balance between functional workspaces, the majestic entrance hall – which also serves as a versatile space for events and exhibitions – and the connection with the surrounding environment. The lighting highlights the textures of the architectural materials, bringing them to life.
